
Francis "Frank" R. Potoczny, a resident at Sunrise of Makefield in Yardley, PA, passed away on December 19, 2025. He was the husband of Dorothy K. Potoczny, to whom he was married for 60 years. Born in West Hazelton, PA, Frank was the son of Helen and Michael Potoczny. Frank was a longtime resident of Levittown PA and passed away at the age of 102.
Frank was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey on this earth was marked by love, honesty, hard work, compassion, dedication to his family and unwavering faith in God. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family and friends. We ask that you remember him for the profound impact his life had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him. Frank was a World War II veteran in the 31st infantry. He received a purple heart. He was honored to be a part of the World War II Memorial in Washington, DC.
He had a passion for volunteering at his church, gardening and bowling. While at Sunrise he stayed very active and attended the Rosary Club, mass on Sundays, the exercise club and rode on the Veterans Day truck in both 2024 and 2025. Frank loved his family very much and was overjoyed to spend time with them and watch the kids grow up and continue on his legacy.
Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, his son Martin, and four of his siblings, Catherine (Kas), Rita, Bobby (Robert) and Johnny.
He is survived by his sister Helene Potocnzy, his children Philomena (Joseph) Kemler, Bernadette (Broadus) Graves, Mark, Loretta Ely, and Lizebeth (Leo) Fotchman: 10 grandchildren, Dawn (Michael) Salamone, Joseph (Danielle) Kemler, Keith (Maureen) McEly, Amanda Ely, Katelyn (Adam) Ely, Sara Ely, Martin Potocnzy, Jennifer (Vaughn) Hart, Jessica (Ryan) Kelly, Leo Fotchman; 18 great grandchildren: Savanna, Michael, Rosie, Fox, Landon, Finley, Oliver, Elliott, Martin, Mason, Madelyn, Liam, Ryleigh, Ashton, Parker, Kyleigh, Mason and Ava; and 2 great- great grandchildren.
A viewing will be held at Queen of the Universe, located at 2443 Trenton Rd, Levittown, Pennsylvania, 19056, on December 29, 2025, from 10:00 am to 10:20 am. Following the viewing, a family eulogy will take place at 10:20 with the funeral mass starting at 10:30 am.
The burial with full military honors will occur at 12:00 pm on December 29, 2025 at Resurrection Cemetery, 5201 Hulmeville Rd, Bensalem, Pennsylvania, 19020. Frank will be laid to rest beside his wife, Dorothy and son, Martin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions sent in Frank’s name to Queen of Universe Parish Center, 2505 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA 19056 would be appreciated by his family.
Frank will be remembered with respect and love by all who knew him.
