Frank Carl Finch, age 94, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family. Frank leaves behind a legacy of faith, kindness, hard work, and unwavering love for his family. A longtime resident of Fallsington, PA, Frank was known for his steady presence, thoughtful nature, intelligence, humor, and deep devotion to both his loved ones and his faith.
Born to Catherine and Frank Finch, he was raised on a large farm property in Smoke Run, PA. Frank learned the value of dedication and perseverance at an early age. He was the valedictorian of his graduating class at Beccaria High School in 1950 and developed a lifelong passion for problem-solving and mechanics, learning auto repair skills from his uncles while growing up.
Frank proudly served his country during the Korean War, where he rose to the rank of Sergeant in the Mortar Division. His military service reflected the bravery, resilience, and selflessness that would continue to define his life.
Following his service, Frank built a remarkable 40-year career with the PECO Transportation Division, where he worked as a Shop Foreman and Supervisor. He was respected as a skilled leader and trusted problem-solver whose wisdom and work ethic earned the admiration of coworkers and friends alike.
Frank had a passion for Philadelphia sports and enjoyed listening to Bernard Meltzer on the radio. He was deeply rooted in his faith and loved attending Ukrainian Catholic Church in Bristol before later becoming devoted to St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church. His faith in Jesus was unshakable, and he found great joy in supporting his church community, clergy, neighbors, and those around him. He was also an advocate for the Bucks County Opportunity Council, always willing to help others in any way he could.
Those who knew Frank will remember his gentle guidance, his wisdom, and the example he set through his actions. He believed in leading by example and often encouraged others with sayings such as, “Put your best foot forward,” and “You are great.”
Above all else, Frank cherished his family. He shared 76 loving years of marriage with his beloved wife, Joanne, and together they built a life centered around love, faith, and family traditions. Frank treasured time spent with his family, whether enjoying car rides, gathering for Sunday meals at Neshaminy Mall, or spending summers at the seashore and visiting family near Penn State.
Frank is now reunited with his parents, Frank James Finch and Catherine Finch (nee Lucas); his brothers John (Eleanor), and Bill (Janet); and his pet beagles Rocky and Benji.
He is survived by his wife Joanne; his children Frank and Mary Finch; his grandchildren: Frank Finch of Los Angeles, CA, and Rachel Finch of San Diego, CA; his siblings George Finch (Ruth) and Janet Brown (Richard); over 20 nieces and nephews; his pets dogs Cory (Jack Russel) and Bruno (Corgi); and other extended family and friends.
