

Frank H. Harris of Levittown passed away surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday, April 11, 2010 at Saint Mary Medical Center, Langhorne. He was 85. Frank was raised in Beaver Brook, PA. He moved to Levittown with his wife, Dorothy, in 1959 and resided there until his retirement in 1989. He and his wife then moved to Port St. Lucie, FL for several years and then moved back to Levittown to be near their family. A member of the 101st Airbourne Division during World War II, he fought from Normandy through Bastogne and into Germany. He earned 5 Bronze Stars and numerous campaign awards. Frank was a member of Memorial Post, 960, American Legion. After his service in the Army, Frank became a plumber and pipefitter and a member of Local 9 in New Jersey for over 60 years. An avid hunter, fisherman and Philly fan, he also enjoyed trips to Atlantic City, playing the slots and going out to restaurants with his wife. He was a great storyteller and enjoyed his monthly family poker game. He especially liked playing with wild cards. Frank also loved to play the harmonica. Frank was the beloved husband of 60 years to Dorothy (Lukatch). He was the devoted father of Dorothy Mason (Joseph) of Levittown, Catherine Strassler (Roger) of Fairless HIlls, David Harris (Mary) of Levittown, Anne Marie Harris of Linnville Falls, SC, Frank Harris (Lynda) of Levittown, Eugene Harris of Tucson, AZ, Arthur Harris (Nancy) of Manahawkin, NJ, Jim Harris (Amy) of Fallsington, Margaret Goodwin (Kevin) of Milford, CT, Bill Harris (Joann) of Langhorne and Chuck Harris (Robin) of Levittown. He was the dear grandfather of 30 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren (and was anticipating the arrival of his 3rd great grandchild). He will also be sadly missed by his sister Elizabeth Pepas of Bethlehem, PA and his brothers, Edward of Hazleton, PA, Richard of Lutherville, MD and Raymond of Audenried, PA and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, from 9:30 until 11:30 am at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown 19056 where his funeral service will be held at 11:30 am. Interment will follow in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Salvation Army Corps, P.O. Box 824, Levittown, PA 19058.
