James Rodgers McDade, of Levittown, PA died on Friday, June 24, 2011 at his home. He was 88. Born in Hazleton, PA, Mr. McDade was an original Levittown homeowner. He was employed with U.S. Steel for 33 years, retiring in 1985. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Mr. McDade was an avid Notre Dame fan and a proud member of the Notre Dame "Subway Alumni". He loved big band music. Mr. McDade was the beloved husband of Sarah M. (Holland) McDade for nearly 60 years. He was the loving father of Anne McDade, Mary Lutzker (Stuart), Eileen Loesser and her husband David, and James McDade. He was the devoted grandfather of Kelly and Katie Lutzker, Christopher (Christine), Jeffrey (Kelly) and Brian Loesser and Jimmy and Owen McDade. He will also be sadly missed by his sister Anne Andes. Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Church, 9172 New Falls Rd., Fallsington where his funeral mass, to be celebrated by his dear friend, Rev. Charles Bonner, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Rite of Committal will follow in Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
