Dear Jeremy. It's been six years since you've passed. I think you'd be proud of who I am and who I've become. I still play on the DS you gave to me. If not my immediate thought, the thought of you is always in the back of my mind. I miss you so badly, but I've accepted it. Death is scary. Especially when you're 8 years old, seeing someone you knew and loved in a casket, unmoving and unbreathing. Someone you know you saw living and breathing not all that long ago. It hurts me knowing what you were dealing with, and I can't help but feel like I'm dealing with somewhat similar things. I'm sorry I left so early at your funeral. I'm so sorry. I wish you could've gotten the help you needed before it was too late. I don't mean for my condolence to be grim or dark. Sometimes I think you're still watching over me, whether in the next realm or as a ghost or something. Do you still see me? Do you still hear me? If only I could know. If only I could reach out to you again. I lost faith in anything religious after writing a note to God, begging and pleading for you to come back. Do you know I would watch people who looked like you, hoping for it to be you? I wish you could come back. But life isn't a fairytale like that. I love you Uncle Jeremy. I miss you so much.

I spent today listening to your voice messages, calling your phone, looking at your pictures, reading and rereading your note.  I love you and miss you so very much Jeremy, my rare, kind hearted, generous , loyal, one of a kind, precious son.  I cannot wait until the day we are reunited! You are forever in my heart and always on my mind!

My good friend Jeremy,It's been a rough week for me.I very often think of the success that you and I could have found together - as a team. Although we only knew each other for a couple of years, considering we met after high school -  I considered you to be one of my closest friends. This stuck out to me, because I had trouble finding and KEEPING new friends very often after I had graduated. You're one of the very few guys who I felt that I could get along with. Maybe it's because we were both significantly book-smart, I'll never understand why we clicked the way that we did man. But it was freaking awesome having you in my life, and I miss you dearly. Not a day goes by where I don't think about how I lost my best friend.While a large portion of my friend/acquaintance group would quite often ask me for favors, The only thing that Jeremy Garber had ever asked me for was my time. I remember a night where you called me late, saying that you had a flat tire from what I recall. I remember feeling like a poor friend the following day for letting you down, not being able to make it up there.... It was a late hour, but I should have taken the time to help you. I know for a fact that if the tables were turned, you would have helped me out in the same situation.Jeremy has always been known always a TRUE MAN who stuck his neck out for EVERYBODY. One of the kindest souls, most intelligent souls a have had the honor to cross paths with in my lifetime for certain.You motivate me to do better..... Sue and Rick, we are so sorry and saddened to hear about Jeremy. Our hearts are heavy with you. Our memories with Jeremy and David at AWANA, elementary school, birthday parties, pokemon, spyro, will always be remembered with a smile. Life was so much simpler then. Sue & Rick, I am so sad to hear about the loss of your dear Jeremy. I have fond memories of Jeremy as a young boy playing at our house on Birch Avenue with Dana. They were best friends and always together throughout elementary school. I remember him in his Scout uniform . He was always so polite and had the sweetest  smile. Jeremy was a classmate of my daughter. I was classroom mom for some of those years. I will always remember the sweet, quiet child with the big brown eyes. I hope hes found peace now. Prayers for the family. 

Garber family -- I am truly and deeply sorry for your loss. I wanted to be at Jeremy's service on Saturday, but I have to work. I hope you get the opportunity to read these messages someday. Many people have a lot of kind words to say and memories to share about Jeremy. Please stay strong during this extremely difficult time. I grew up with Jeremy throughout grade school. Some of the most special times I have were with Jeremy. I remember spending countless summer days swimming in his pool in the backyard. Meanwhile, Jeremy would always try and get me to go in with him (when sometimes I just wanted to dip my feet in) until finally I caved in and he would dunk me! I remember having years of birthday parties and sometimes even sleepovers where he was the only guy and he just didn't care, because all he wanted to do was be my friend and celebrate my birthday with me.  Jeremy's mom and my mom were good friends as well. When they did bible study together, I still see Jeremy and I in my room trading Pokémon cards. Jeremy always knew how to make me laugh and smile growing up. Even though we lost touch in recent years, my heart still hurts hearing of his passing. I am not very good at public speaking at all but I feel like if anyone deserves to have recognition for being such an amazing person, it's Jeremy. I don't know if I will be able to get up and pay tribute to how great of a friend Jeremy has been at his service so I wanted you all to know in some simple thoughts..A few days ago we lost an amazing friend. Jeremy always made it possible for our whole friend group to get together. He drove us EVERYWHERE. If there was a show and he had never heard of the band but we asked him to go, he'd go. If we needed a ride somewhere and even if we offered him gas money, he wouldn't take it and would drive us anyway. He always had a cigarette to bum, an ear to listen and was down for an adventure. He will forever be missed and there will always be plenty of memories to reminisce on. Rest easy, man..If any of you are struggling and need to just vent or whatever it may be, please don't hesitate to contact me.

It hurts my heart beyond description to know Jeremy is no longer here. He was without a doubt a joy to talk to.   He was intelligent,  had an awesome sense of humor and so lovable that its hard to imagine I wont see him again here. My deepest sympathy is extended to Sue and all of Jeremys family and Friends. Heaven has an amazing new shining light to look down on everyone who had the pleasure to cross Jeremys path.

I never met Jeremy. I've known Rick Sr.. My heart goes out to all of the family members and friends. Especially his father, he will need support. God Bless all.

Jeremy came to visit me in Japan. He had one major goal in mind, to climb Mount Fuji. We took a bus half way up the mountain, and then started a 10 hour hike to the summit in a thunder storm. It was freezing cold and the rain got so bad  we hid in a portapotty for shelter for about a half hour during the night. It smelled awful but we had to get to the top. It was pitch black and we were tired and exhausted and we both at times wanted to quit and go back down.. but we kept going. We talked a lot and he told me a ton of stories, some dark but mostly we reminisced on good times trying to distract from the horrible situation we put ourselves in. The trek took all night and was literally unbearable but we reached the top to watch the sunrise, the warm sun hitting our faces as we finally had a moment of peace. I watched him face this challenge and make it to the top, something many people in their lives will never accomplish... climbing up to the 12,000 foot summit of Mount Fuji. I believe Jeremy had a lot of mountains to climb in his life, more metaphoric than physical. It pains me to hear that this last obstacle, was a mountain climb he thought he couldnt endure. My heart goes out to his family and friends who knew he had so much potential and light and I hope that they continue their journey climbing. Even though the trek up the mountain can take a toll on us, please remember you have the strength to keep on going and the sunrise is waiting. My only regret is that I couldnt remind Jeremy that he had the strength to persevere, he was not alone in the dark, and to never quit climbing until he saw the sunrise he dreamed of. 

So, so sadden that this has happened. My mother and father were very close with Pauline and George Garber, because George and my Father were cousins. I grew up listening to fun-loving stories of our Garber side of the family. We are so saddened by this news. Our deepest condolences for the family at this time. May Jeremy be in peace now without worldly pain. May his memories live on through his loved ones.
