John Patrick Barrett

John Barrett, a longtime resident of Levittown and Fairless Hills, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on May 19, 2025.

Born in in 1951 to parents John and Marie Barrett, John graduated from Bishop Egan High School in 1969. He went on to dedicate 44 years of his life working as a laborer in the construction field, where he was known for his strength, work ethic, and loyalty.

John was a man who deeply loved spending time with his family and friends. He had a passion for music and could talk to anyone for hours about all different types. A true sports enthusiast, he loved hockey and was actively involved in multiple men’s leagues. He loved cheering on Notre Dame, and all Philadelphia sports teams.

He was someone who would do anything for anyone, no questions asked. John was a devoted husband to Laura for 12 years and a loving, supportive father to his daughter, Nicole Barrett. He was the life of the party with a heart of gold—an uncle to some, a cousin to many, and a friend to all.

John is preceded in death by his parents John Barrett and Marie Barrett (nee Fahy).

John is survived by his wife Laura Barrett; his daughter Nicole Barrett; his sister Joanne Gallagher (John); his nephews: Michael Gallagher (Caroline) and Ryan Gallagher (Megan); his niece Sunny Gallagher; and numerous great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

A viewing for John will be held Friday, May 23, 2025 from 9:00am to 9:45am at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 66 Levittown Parkway, Levittown, Pennsylvania 19054, followed by a eulogy at 9:45am, and funeral mass at 10am. He will be laid to rest following mass at Resurrection Cemetery, 5201 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem, Pennsylvania 19020.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to your favorite charity in honor of John. His family is currently working on setting up a donation to Penn, where he received his treatment.

John’s presence brought light and laughter into every room he entered. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
