Joseph was born on December 9, 1947, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to the proud parents Joseph Mormello and Julia Matkowski Mormello. He grew up in the Birch Valley section of Levittown, Pennsylvania, alongside his two younger brothers, Bruce and Douglas.
From an early age, Joe demonstrated exceptional talent and determination. At just 12 years old, he became a star pitcher for Levittown American Little League, leading his team to the 1960 Little League World Series Championship. In the final game, Joe threw a no-hitter and struck out 16 batters—an extraordinary performance that cemented his place in Pennsylvania Little League history.
Joseph graduated from Pennsbury High School in 1965. In July 1967, he married Dorothy Rocco, the girl he once delivered newspapers to as a paperboy. Their love story became the foundation of a devoted marriage and family life.
Joseph earned his degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1972. He returned to Levittown, where he opened one of the town’s first chiropractic offices. For 39 years, Dr. Mormello faithfully served his community, helping countless patients and earning the respect and gratitude of those he cared for.
In his free time, Joe enjoyed skiing in the Pocono Mountains, boating and fishing in the Atlantic Ocean, watching sports, and spending summers at the beach with his family in Cape May, New Jersey. He leaves behind a lasting legacy in Bucks County—one defined by service, dedication, and love for family.
Joseph and Dorothy were blessed with three children: Christine Kilmowicz (John), Heather McGarigle (Sean), and Joseph Mormello (Loree). He was a proud grandfather to Brian (Ashley), Taylor, Melissa, Macy, Michael, Lily, Joey, and Leah, and a loving great-grandfather to Luke, Carson, and Owen. He is also survived by his brother, Dr. Douglas Mormello (Lynn), and his nephews, Douglas and Jordan Mormello.
Joseph will be remembered for his faith, compassion, and unwavering devotion to his family and community.
