

Joseph F. Ritter Joseph F. Ritter, of Croydon died on Tuesday, February 28, 2012, at his home, at the young age of 78, following a lengthy illness. Born in , Philadelphia, Mr. Ritter has been a resident of Croydon for 60 years. He was employed in the heating and air conditioning industry for many years. At the age of 15 Joe was a pitcher for the House of David baseball club where he was known as "No Hitter Ritter". He had a life long passion for fishing and hunting. Joe and his wife, Joyce were famous for their energetic jitterbug, winning numerous jitterbug contests back in the day. Joe was preceded in death by his loving wife and dance partner, Joyce. He is survived by his five children, Joseph, Jr., Ronnie, Jill DeJesus (Rick), Judi and Joy. Joe will also be sadly missed by his grandchildren Jeremy, Jarret, Jocelyn, Briana Marie, Aram, Ricky, Alex, Jenna Lynn and Falon and his great grandchildren: Kyle, Jordan, Marina, Jayda, Jade, Hayden Tyler and Jarren. He will also be missed by his sister Elizabeth "Billie" Johnston and her husband Harry and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service for Joe and his wife, Joyce, will be held on Saturday, 1:00 p.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown where the family will receive friends from 12 noon until the time of the service. Contributions in Joe's name may be made to the V.FW.
