Lynda Murphy

Lynda Murphy, of Fairless Hills, died on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at her home from complications due to lung cancer. She was 53. Born in Newark, NJ, Lynda lived in Rahway, NJ for many years and was a 1976 graduate of Cranford High School. She has resided in Fairless Hills for the past 18 years. Lynda was a member of St. Frances Cabrini parish. She loved to read and do puzzle games, but she mostly loved spending time with her granddaughter. Lynda was the beloved wife of Timothy J. Murphy Jr. for 32 years. She was the loving mother of Kelly A. Murphy and Timothy J. Murphy III and was the devoted grandmother of Ryleigh. Lynda was the daughter of the late James and Elizabeth McCarty and was the sister of Barbara Mitchell, Katie Polny, Charlie McCarty, Joanne Banner and Joseph McCarty. She will also be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Family and friends may call on Monday from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown. Her funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday, 9:30 a.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Church followed by Rite of Committal in Rosedale Memorial Park.
