

Marie A. Toland, of Langhorne, died on Thursday, November 10, 2011 at her home. She was 83. Marie was born and raised in South Philadelphia and graduated from Hallahan High School and Holy Family College where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Education. She moved to Levittown in the 1950's where she resided until moving to Langhorne in 2000. Marie was a teacher for over 30 years mostly at local parochial schools including Immaculate Conception, St. Michael the Archangel and most recently St. Frances Cabrini from where she retired. She was an active member of St. Frances Cabrini parish where she served as a Lector and an Extraordinary Minister of the Mass. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed her time volunteering at St. Mary Medical Center. Marie was the beloved wife of Joseph F. Toland for 59 years. She was the loving mother of Kathleen Jarczynski and her husband Steve of Bel Air, MD and Joseph F. Toland Jr. of Philadelphia. She was the sister of Jacqueline Parker of Cherry Hill, NJ and Gertrude Cunningham of Burlington, NJ. She will be sadly missed by 8 grandchildren, Joseph, Brian, Kevin, John, Lisa, Kyle, Emily and Haley; 2 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends may call Sunday from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, 9:30 a.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 325 S. Oxford Valley Rd., Fairless Hills followed by Rite of Committal in Resurrection Cemetery.
