

Michael J. Capie of Hatboro died on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at his home. He was 63. Born in Philadelphia, Michael was a long time resident of Trevose before moving to Hatboro 4 years ago. After graduating from high school, Michael attended culinary school at the Rochester Institute of Technology and spent over 25 years working as a cook at Rydal Park. He loved to entertain others. He was hearing impaired, yet he had perfect pitch and his father taught him to play the banjo which he did very well. He was a member of the Philadelphia Banjo Society and the Harrowgate/Uptown String Band for over 40 years. Son of the late Frederick and Helen (Hetman) Capie, Michael is the beloved brother of Frederick V. (Judi) of Georgia, Gerald R. (Karen) of Levittown and Thomas G. (Melissa) of Indianapolis. He was the devoted uncle of Joelle Myers (Scott) and Gerald R. Capie Jr. and the great uncle of Rachel Myers. He also leaves behind numerous cousins, friends and co-workers. Family and friends are invited to call on Monday from 9 until 10 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church, Bristol Pike and Hulmeville Rd, Bensalem where his funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Rite of Committal will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Uptown String Band, 115 Trenton Road, Hulmeville, PA 19047.
