

Miguela F. CastroMiguela F. "Elay" Castro passed away, surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at her home. She was 98.Born in the Philippines, and a former resident of San Francisco, CA, Mrs. Castro moved to Levittown in 2014 to be closer to her family.She was a 1939 graduate of the School of Nursing, University of the Philippines. Mrs. Castro was a Private Duty Nurse of the former President of the Philippines, Manuel L. Quezon. After the war, she joined her husband, Dr. Loreto Castro, and together they formed a private medical practice.Mrs. Castro enjoyed gardening, cooking Filipino food for her family and loved traveling extensively with her girlfriends.She lovingly helped raise her cherished grandchildren and truly loved life with her family. Mrs. Castro was well loved by many and enjoyed a full, happy life.She is the beloved wife of the late Loreto R. Castro, M.D. and mother of the late Corazon "Cory" Bautista (Fil). Mrs. Castro is the loving mother of Arturo "Phil" Castro, M.D. (Cecille), Milagros "Mila" Rivera (Victor Rivera, M.D.), Maria Carmen "Babes" Peters (Verne), Carlos "Bong" Castro (Cerie), and Napoleon "Nap" Castro (Celia).She is the Mama of Gian, April, Kim, Chris, Gena, Jamie, V.J., Jason, Jordan, Michelle, Frederick, Donna and Tin-Tin and great Mama of 16. Mrs. Castro will also be sadly missed by numerous nieces and nephews.Along with her husband, daughter, and her parents, Mrs. Castro was predeceased by her siblings, Rosalina, Samuel, Rebecca, Isabela, Esther and Monico.Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, January 21, 2017 from 10:00 until 11:00 am at the Langhorne Presbyterian Church, 125 E. Gilliam Avenue, Langhorne, where her Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am. Interment will be held privately.
