Nelly G. Marsula

Nelly Marsula was born in the Philippines to Joaquin and Teresa. She received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Velez College of Nursing in Cebu. After moving to Atlantic City, NJ, she worked as a registered nurse on ICU and CCU units from 1976 to 2022. As a nurse, she earned nurse of the year and through her compassion and hard-work treated and saved countless patients all the while continuing to help support family back home in the Philippines.

On September 1, 1979 she married Brian Marsula. They raised two sons who followed in her footsteps as nurses, Michael and Sean.

Nelly was an avid gardener and often spent evenings enjoying television with her husband, Brian. Ever the prolific gift-giver, she could often be found out shopping for the perfect gift for friends and family. She was always thoughtful, giving, and humble, devoting herself unselfishly and tirelessly to others. The light she brought to our lives will always burn bright within our hearts where her memory continues to shine.

She is survived by her husband, Brian, her two children, Michael and wife Justine and Sean and wife Chiharu, and her grandchildren, Bethany, Jonathan, Miyo, and Ema.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, February 9th from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc. at 2200 Trenton Rd. Levittown, PA. The funeral will be held at St. Frances Cabrini Church at 9:30 am on Friday, February 10th, 2023 on 325 S. Oxford Valley Rd, Fairless Hills, PA with cremation to proceed afterwards. There are no calling hours on Friday morning.
