Richard W. Fehrle

Richard W. Fehrle of Trevose died on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at his home. He was 78.Born in Philadelphia, Richard has been a resident of Trevose for the past 56 years.Richard spent his career as an operating engineer and was a very loyal and proud member of Local #542 for 50 years.He was a very dedicated husband, father and grandfather. Pop Pop Rich could always be found on the sidelines of every sporting event cheering them on.Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Alberta C. (Birchler) Fehrle.He is the loving father of Donna Burns (Paul), Richard Fehrle (Dee) and Michael Fehrle (Sue).He was the devoted Pop Pop of Michael, Paul, Casey, Morgan, Jenna, Karli, Jake and Nico. He will also be missed by his sisters, Janet McCoy, Eleanor Ramey and Barbara Haller and numerous nieces and nephews.Richard was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ruth Fehrle and his brother, Jack.Family and friends are invited to call from 9 until 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown where his funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Rosedale Memorial Park.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Association of Greater Philadelphia, 321 Norristown Rd., Suite 260, Ambler, PA 19002.
