Robert L. van den Brand of Levittown passed away Wednesday, Sept. 3. He was 55. Born Dec. 25, 1958, in Heerlen, the Netherlands and moving to the USA in 1962, he was the son of the late Wilhelmus G. van den Brand and Paula Boumans. Rob loved working at Crozer Chester Medical Center as an R.N. and adored his co-workers. He was an active member of the Frosty Hollow Tennis League and never missed a Philadelphia Eagles or Chicago Cubs game. He loved building things, helping others, and woke up every morning happy to be alive. Rob was an inspiration to all with his positive outlook, charisma, generosity, and ultimately, his two-year fight against pancreatic cancer. Lovingly remembered as "Robby V." and "Robke," he is survived by his wife Mary; his two sons Jason and Ryan; his brother Peter; and his sister Ann Slowik. He will be missed by his nieces and nephews, step-children, and step-grandchildren. Everyone knows he is now flying high with his "E-A-G-L-E-S, Eagles!" Funeral services will be held at Dougherty Funeral Home in Levittown on Saturday, Sept. 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please help cure pancreatic cancer by donating to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, 1500 Rosecrans Ave., Suite 200, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266 or at http://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/fupc/KeeptheMemoryAlive.
