

Stephen M. Roman of Levittown died on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at his home. He was 91. Born in Hazleton, Mr. Roman was a long time resident of Levittown and was a parishioner of St. Michael the Archangel Church. He was a proud World War II Army veteran serving in the European Theatre for 27 months and was the recipient of various medals. Mr. Roman was employed with U.S. Steel for 34 years until retiring. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Joseph the Worker Council #4215. He loved nature and enjoyed gardening and was especially proud of his prized vegetables. He was an avid golfer and all around sportsman who could throw a mean curve ball. He was very proud of his Italian heritage. Mr. Roman was the beloved husband of Congetta A. (Fescina) Roman for 66 wonderful years. He was the loving and devoted father of Barbara A. Roman, Marilyn S. Clayton (Charles), Stephen M. Roman, Jr. (Laura), Michelle A. Roman, Michael F. Roman (Eileen) and Leslie M. Kraus (Clifford). He was the cherished grandfather of 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by 3 brothers and 3 sisters, he is survived by his sisters Mary Roman and Lillian Zola as well as several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown. His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, 10 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 66 Levittown Parkway, Levittown, PA 19054 followed by Rite of Committal at Washington Crossing National Cemetery. There are no calling hours on Wednesday prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael the Archangel Church.
