Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA , he was a 1962 graduate of Northeast High School. Thomas honorably served in the New Jersey Army National Guard from 1964 until 1970. He began his career working as a pressman for the Bulletin in 1963 until 1970. He then worked for TV Guide until 1978, and finally the Philadelphia Inquirer as an assistant Chairman until retirement in 2007. He was a proud member of the Newspaper Union Local 16 since 1966.
In his retirement, Thomas worked part-time for Neshaminy School District as a custodian until 2020.
In June 1968, Thomas married the love of his life, Dolores (Doneker) Gallagher. They had three children together. In his spare time, Thomas enjoyed his many pets, television programs, and listening to music, especially Elvis Presley.
Predeceased by his wife; Thomas is survived by his children, Amy, Tommy (Jeanmarie), and Laura (Bill); and his seven grandchildren; Hailey, Joe, Samy, Rachel, Jack, Anthony and Kelly.
He will be missed by his partner of the last 12 years, Alicia Ronzano.
A Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 16,2024 at 10:00 AM, at Our Lady of Grace Church, 255 Bellevue Ave, Penndel, PA. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem, PA.
