

Thomas F. Harwood Thomas F. Harwood passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Saint Mary Medical Center in Langhorne. He was 91. Born and raised in New York, NY, he was a resident of Levittown and a member of Queen of the Universe Parish for the past 38 years. Tom was a devout catholic who believed his vocation was to be a good husband and father. He epitomized integrity and joy for life. He will be remembered for his white hair, the twinkle in his eye and an Irish song on his lips. He enjoyed volunteering his time at the Pharmacy at Aria Health Bucks Campus. Tom proudly served his country in the US Army during World War II. Beloved husband of 61 years to the late Dorothy, Tom was the loving father of Thomas A. (Theresa) of Yardley, Madelyn Capobianco (Paul) of Selden, NY, Robert E. (Ivette) of Staten Island, NY, Richard J. (Mary) of Coram, NY, Kenneth J. (Ellen) of Oak Hill, VA, Paul F. (Carol) of Accord, NY, James P. (Jaime) of Monroe, NY, Maryellen Trapp (Thomas) and Carolyn Spina (Mark) of Levittown. Tom will also be sadly missed by his 22 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. The fullness of life is measured both by the quantity of years and the quality of one's character. Tom Harwood was blessed with both. And we were blessed by the joy he brought to all of us. Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 1:00 until 3:00 pm and from 6:00 until 9:00 pm at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday morning at 9:15 am at Queen of the Universe Church, followed by the Rite of Committal in Washington Crossing National Cemetery. There will be no calling hours on Thursday morning.
