Thomas J. McCann, of Yardley, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. He was 92. Born in Philadelphia, Mr. McCann resided in the Port Richmond section of the city for 79 years where he was a member of St. Ann parish. He has resided at his niece's home in Yardley for the past 13 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II where he was a P.O.W. and was awarded a Purple Heart. Mr. McCann was employed at the Frankford Arsenal for many years until retiring. He was the son of the late Frank and Marguerite Kilty McCann and brother of the late Frank McCann, Mary Dougherty and Loretta McCann. He will be sadly missed by his brother, James A. McCann; his sister, Margaret (Honey) Clark; his loving niece, Miriam A. Dougherty, with whom he resided; 4 grandnieces, Mimi, Loretta, Maggie and Jamie Dougherty; and several other nieces, nephews and cousins. Family and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Saturday, 12:30 p.m. at Queen of the Universe Church, 2443 Trenton Rd., Levittown. Rite of Committal will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
