

Born in Philadelphia, the loving son of the late Gustav and Mary Gunkel, Bill was a long time resident of Fairless Hills, having resided at Grundy Gardens for many years, prior to moving to Langhorne. He was a former member of Saint Frances Cabrini.
Until his retirement, he was employed as a supervisor with Circle "F" Industries in Trenton, NJ.
He greatly enjoyed watching his grandchildren at all of their sports activities.
A very close family man, Mr. Gunkel loved the yearly family reunions and cruises, his sister Mary and her husband, Pete, graciously hosted.
He deeply loved his family and was a very loving father, grandfather and brother.
Beloved husband of the late Miriam V. (Smith), Mr. Gunkel is the loving father of Mark W. Gunkel and his wife, Joann, of Levittown and Janice Daubert and her husband, Bob, of Langhorne.
He is the devoted Pop Pop of Joann and Ray Hollohan, Mark and Heather Gunkel, Michael and Amanda Gunkel, Bobby and Kelley Daubert, Chris and Kristen Daubert, Melissa and Adam Molis and the late Heather Gunkel-Safee; great Pop to Gabby, Mark Jr., Lexi, Destiny, Courtney, Owen, Landon, Steven, Braydon, Julianne, Grace and Kendall; and proud grandfather to 3 great great granddaughters.
Mr. Gunkel will also be sadly missed by his siblings, Alma Miller of Winchester, KY, Mary Mahler (Pete) of High Point, NC and Madeline O'Neill of El Dorado Hills, CA; also many loved nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, Frank Gunkel and sister, Johanna Blodgett.
Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, from 10:00 until 11:00 am at Faith Baptist Church, 1515 Wistar Road, Fairless Hills, where his funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Pastor Chad Braley officiating. Interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Gunkel's name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1818 Market Street, Suite 2820, Philadelphia, PA 19103 or to Faith Baptist Church Missionary Fund.
