William J. Weaver

William J. Weaver died on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at Silver Lake Nursing Home, Bristol. He was 88. A 1939 graduate of Saint John High School, Mr. Weaver was a former longtime resident of the Kensington and Lower Mayfair sections of Philadelphia. He was a member of Saint Joseph the Worker Parish, Fallsington. During World War II, Mr. Weaver served as an Army Medic. He was a warehouseman for General Electric Supply Company in Philadelphia for 37 years until his retirement in 1983. He was an avid reader. Beloved husband of 63 years to Mary V. (McKenna), Mr. Weaver is the loving father of Cecelia Devlin (Anthony), Michael (Ellen), MaryAnne Gordon (Richard), Mark (Michelle) and Matthew and devoted grandfather of 8 and great grandfather 9. He also will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Family and friends may call on Saturday, from 9:00 until 10:00 am at Saint Joseph the Worker Church, 9172 New Falls Road, Fallsington where his funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am. Rite of Committal will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. The family has requested that memorial contributions in his memory be made to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
