LEWISTON - A Mass of Christian Burial honoring Alfreda R. Carbonneau's life was celebrated by Reverend Stephen Cartwright Thursday November 2nd at Holy Cross Church of the Prince of Peace Parish.

At the beginning of Mass Alfreda's casket was greeted at the church door where Reverend Cartwright blessed her with Holy Water that reminds us of her infant Baptism after which Alfreda's daughter Susan and her husband Peter Poulin placed a white burial on Alfreda's casket representing her Baptism into a new spiritual life with God.

The first reading was proclaimed by Alfreda's granddaughter Tracy Boulet. Prayers of the Faithful were recited by great granddaughter Kaitie King. The Offertory Gifts were brought to the altar by granddaughter, Sherri Carter and and great granddaughter, Marisa Carter.

At the conclusion of Mass Alfreda's granddaughter, Angela Moore shared words of remembrance in memory of her "Supa Memere"

Following a funeral procession to the Maine Veterans Cemetery the Reverend Mauldin from St. Michael's Church in Augusta recited committal prayers at the entombment to conclude services.

The pallbearers were Eric Poulin, Brian Boulet, Jeremy and Randy Carter, Michael King, and Pat Tardif.

A reception of fellowship was held later at the DaVinci's Restaurant in Lewiston. Arrangements by Pinette Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home of Lewiston.

I will deeply miss my evening visits with Alfreda. She was a truly amazing and wonderful woman. My thoughts are with your entire family, you all made her so proud Becky Lugner

Charlie and I send our sincere condolences to Claudie, Sue and entire family. We are on a bus trip and will be unable to attend the wake and funeral service. We will have you in our thoughts as you celebrate your mom’s life. We hold you in our prayers.

My condolences to Claudy, Sue and family. I remember your Mom working weekends at my Dad's grocery store, and what a wonderful person she was. Her gentleness and love of people is what I loved about her. Her family was #1. Praying for all of you!

Our condolences go out to Claudy, Sue and the entire family.  She was like a second mom to me.  Whenever I would sleep over, Claudy and I watched cartoons on Saturday mornings.   She would serve us red hot dogs with mayo.  That was a treat because I never had them that way.  I also know she loved her ice cream and loved going with me to Gifford's.
