

LEWISTON - Blanche C. Hamel, 100, formerly of Roak Block, 156 Main St., Auburn died Sunday, Oct. 26 at Montello Manor. She was born in Wilton, March 13, 1914 daughter of the late Joseph and Nellie Yebas Chorzempa. She was educated in Wilton schools and was employed in the spinning room at Bates Manufacturing in Lewiston until her retirement in 1976. She was a member of the former St. Patrick's Church and was an avid reader and enjoyed walking. Blanche is survived by two daughters, Lorraine Friese of Fort Worth, Texas and Patricia Perron of Virginia Beach, VA; eight grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren and a sister, Stella Campbell of Orlando, FL. She was predeceased by a sister, Caroline Collins and a brother, Louis Chorzempa. Visitation at Fortin/Lewiston, Thursday from 9:00 AM till 11:00 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM at the Basilica of Ss. Peter & Paul (lower chapel).
