GREENE: Elizabeth C. Bazinet, 81, of Greene, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 23, 1937 in Boston, Massachusetts, a daughter of the late Forrest and Helen (Voelker) Clark. In 1941, the family moved to Swanville, Maine, just outside Belfast, where she attended school. She also attended school in Dorchester and Somerville, Mass. She attended high school in Belfast and later in Hartford, Conn. Where she graduated from Hartford High School in 1954. On January 26, 1957, she married the love of her life, Marcel Bazinet at St. Michael’s Church in Hartford, Ct. They lived for a short time in Glen Falls, New York before returning in 1958 to Maine and her husband’s home town of Lewiston. She worked in the sales department at Geiger Bros. for 37 years before retiring in 1995 at the age of 58. An outdoor person, she enjoyed her vegetable and flower gardens, nature and feeding every bird, squirrel and turkey in the neighborhood. She also loved crocheting afghans, doing crossword puzzles, reading, working on her computer, wintering in Florida and going out to eat with family and friends. She was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish in Sabattus for over 50 years.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband of over 61 years, Marcel Bazinet, three sons: Michael Bazinet and wife Dorothy, James Bazinet, Daniel Bazinet, five grandchildren: Jason, Leanne, Katie, Randy and Tasha, three great-grandchildren: Bobby, JaZmin and Ciara, a brother, Robert F. Clark Sr., plus many cousins and several special nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her step-mother and sister-in-law Mildred.
The family would like to thank The Androscoggin Hospice Staff who made Elizabeth’s last days comfortable for her and the family and friends. Visitation will be held on Friday at The Fortin Funeral Home in Lewiston from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 1:00 PM at St. Peter’s Basilica in Lewiston in the Upper Church.
