

WATERVILLE - Helen A. Clark 94, formerly of Auburn died Friday, April 29th at Evergreen Nursing Home in Waterville following a long illness. She was born in Augusta, June 18, 1916, the daughter of Merle and Mary Susan (Post) Clark. Helen grew up in Vassalboro and the China area. She was a graduate of Erskine Academy in China, and the University of Maine in Farmington. Following her education, she became an elementary school teacher teaching in the communities of Jay, Pittsfield, Bangor, and Lewiston retiring as a third grade teacher in 1978. She was a member of First Universalist Church of Auburn and was a member of it’s Women’s Group as well as the Rebekah Lodge. Her hobbies included gardening sewing, and traveling after retirement. Her travels included Europe as well as traveling from China, Maine to the country of China. Surviving are four generations of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 2 brothers, Merle and Donald and one sister, Charlotte. Funeral services honoring Helen’s life will be held SATURDAY 10:00AM from the Memorial Chapel of Dillingham & Son with Chaplain Kitsie Claxton presiding. Burial will be private in the family lot at Pine Grove Cemetery, Waterville.
