

She grew up with her sisters and brother and spent summers at Old Orchard Beach, where at the young age of 16, met Roland Cote, the love of her life, who she married on July 7, 1956. They built their life in Lewiston Maine, bringing 7 children into the world.
Jeannette provided the very best for her children, hosting pool parties, making special holidays like Christmas and Easter absolutely magical, and providing wonderful opportunities both aboard the family boat, JRC, and while home in Lewiston. During retirement years, Jeannette and Roland lived half the year in Lauderdale Lakes in Florida and half the year in Maine.
Jeannette lived an active life throughout all her years. She was a competitive athlete, bowling, playing tennis and especially excelling at golf. She was a talented needlework artist, displaying her artwork and even winning awards for her pieces displayed around the community. Jeannette was not only a devoted wife and mother, she was a woman of great talent, compassion, filled with adventure and laughter. Her smile lit up a room!
Jeannette is survived by her children – David Cote (son) and Pauline Cote, Louise Baker (daughter), Charlene O’Clair (daughter) and Karen Girardin, Stephanie Gelinas (daughter) and Gerry Gelinas, Cynthia Cote (daughter), and Roland Cote (son) and Melinda Cote. Jeannette leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, her sister, Suzanne Therrien and her very special friend Mary Lou Harris, who provided care, friendship and tremendous love during her final years.
She was predeceased by her husband, Roland Cote, her parents Jules and Flora Racicot, brother, Rene Racicot, sister Claudette Beaudry, her daughter Julie Cote and grandsons Kristopher Akerley and Tyler Cote.
A Celebration of Jeannette's Life will take place on Saturday, June 20th at 11AM at The Fortin & Pinette Group Funeral Home, 305 Alfred A Plourde Parkway Lewiston, Maine 04240
