

SCARBOROUGH - John C. Jordan, 68, a resident of the Maine Veterans Home in Scarborough passed away peacefully Thursday November 12th at the Gosnell Hospice House with his loving family by his side after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Lewiston, August 1, 1947, the son of John W., and Carmen C. (Lagasse) Jordan.
John was a 1965 graduate of St. Dominic’s High School and following graduation was immediately drafted to serve in the United States Army Airborne Division as a Green Beret serving two tours of duty during the Vietnam Conflict.
He was an avid race car fan having built and driven his own race cars at Oxford Plains Speedway. He was also an avid follower of NASCAR. Automobiles were his passion. This led to a career in the auto industry where he held a variety of positions for 14 years. He also served as a police officer under his father, John W. Jordan a former Chief of the Auburn Police Department.
Survivors include three sons, Scott and wife Kari of South Portland, Bruce and wife Lacee and Shawn and wife Jamie , all of Liberty, Missouri as well as 7 grandchildren. Two step daughters, Mary and Hannah Middleton both of Orlando, FL. Two sisters, Elaine Merrill and husband Brad and Elizabeth Arsenault all of Blackstock, South Carolina and also surviving are two close family friends, Peter and Phylliss Viets of Unity.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his first wife, the former Lucille Gagne and his second wife, the former Deborah Cobb.

Funeral services honoring John's life will be held WEDNESDAY 11:00 AM November 18th at Christ Temple Church of God in Christ Church Turner Rd., Auburn.
Committal prayers to follow at The Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery Mt. Vernon Rd., Augusta concluding with military honors.
