

LISBON- Lillian M. Cloutier, 94, of Hogan Road, Lewiston passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday January 10, 2011 at the Lamp Alzheimer's Residential Home. She was born in Old Town, Maine on July 21, 1916 the daughter of Israel and Adeline (Duplessis) Paradis. Her mother died when Lillian was 2. Her father later married Amelia Dionne who was a loving second mother.Lillian graduated from Lewiston High School in 1934. She married the love of her life and soul mate Irenee Cloutier on October 24, 1942, and they shared 42 wonderful years together. In the early years she worked as a spinner first at the Continental Mill and later at the Hill Mill in Lewiston. She also worked several years at Bates College until her retirement in the early 1980's. She was a communicant at the Basilica of Sts. Peter & Paul, a member of the Legion of Mary, St. Vincent de Paul, the Ladies of St. Anne's Sodality and the Divine Providence Prayer Group. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, playing cards and crocheting; cooking and baking for her family were her specialties. Lillian was a kind and gentle person always willing to help others. She was a great role model for her children and grandchildren. She lived her motto of "Do unto others what you would have them do unto you."She is survived by her children Patricia Gilbert of Auburn, Diane Roy and her husband Patrice of Rumford, Ronald Cloutier of Tupper Lake, NY; grandchildren Michael Roy and his companion Jill Satalin of Syracuse, NY., Shawn Gilbert of South Portland, Scott Roy and his wife Omayra of Ft. Lauderdale, FL., Heidi and her husband Michael McKenney of Auburn, Kevin Roy and his wife Gretchen of Roanoke, VA., Renee and Andrew Cloutier of Tupper Lake, NY.; great grandchildren Caden Gilbert, Joanne Roy and Johnpaul Roy; cousin and adopted sister Virginia Gagne and her husband Raymond; sister-in-law Theresa and her husband Millard Brower; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Irenee; a sister and brother who died at a young age; her parents Israel and Adeline; her stepmother Amelia; her sisters-in-law Irene Elie and Yvette Bolduc; her brothers-in-law Herve Cloutier and Normand Elie.
