

Auburn - Louise A (Webb) Wood, 90, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 19th, 2025. She was the first child to Frank and Doris Webb (Waugh) of Manchester on March 30th, 1935. She was educated in the local Manchester School System and graduated from Cony High School. After graduation, Louise pursued an education in Nursing and graduated from the CMG (CMMC). While earning her nursing degree, Louise met her husband James Wood and were married in December of 1957 and married for 62 years. Upon graduation, Louise continued to serve the local community while working at CMMC for a period of 35 years. She worked in various departments throughout her career including the ER, OR, ICU/CCU and Burn Unit until she retired in 1992. Louise and Jim raised their four children in the town of Sabattus.
Louise had an incredible talent for baking. She spent countless hours during the holidays making sure that each member of her family had their favorite pie. She and Jim had green thumbs that most could only dream of. They would harvest their fruits & vegetables, canning their harvest and were always willing to share with family and friends. She also had a passion for flowers and had an abundancy of plants both indoors and outdoors. She enjoyed family time at the camp she and Jim built on Kingsbury Pond and watching her grandchildren and family blossom.
Louise is survived by oldest daughter, Jeanette Babine and her husband John, daughter Kathie Wood and partner Marc Levesque, son Stephen Wood and wife Jean, and son Daniel Wood and his wife Nancy. She is survived by her 14 grandchildren, Mark Dunlop, Angelina Gaudet, Jennifer Chavez, Raymond Babine, Patricia Babcock, Christopher Dunlop, Mary O’Donnell, Stephen Wood II,Nicole Patchak, Courtney Allen, Brittany Milligan and Katelynn Gatchell. Her 23 Great Grandchildren Chelsey, Shea-lee, Spencer, Dakota, Zachary, Kaleb, Noah, Corbin, Ryker, Sean, Liam, Taylor, Addison, Lydia, Stephen III, Chloe, Catherine, Michael, Jordan-Michael, Thaliah, Dawson, Sawyer and Harper. Lastly, three great great grandchildren Treven, Sky-Lynn and Scarlett. Louise is also survived by her siblings Marion Tourtelotte, Susan Maxim, Clyde Webb, Walter Webb, Charles Webb as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Louise was predeceased by her parents Frank and Doris Webb, her husband James, siblings Bradford and Stanley Webb and Barbara Curtis, granddaughters Laura and Jacqueline Lemieux and great grandson Isaac Lemieux.

Visitation for Louise will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025 from 4PM to 7PM at the Fortin & Pinette Group Funeral Home located at 305 Alfred A Plourde Parkway Lewiston, Maine 04240
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 31st, 2025 at 11AM at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Sabattus. If there is inclement weather, the service will take be held on the same date and time at the American Legion in Sabattus.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested for donations to be made to the Bright Focus Foundation to provide further research for Alzheimer’s.
