Peggy was born in Berlin, New Hampshire on January 4, 1936, the daughter of Charles and Edna (Lemerise) Durdan. She graduated from South Portland High School in 1954.
Peggy was married to Roger Roberge for 63 years, living in So Portland, Augusta, Poland, and Schooner Estates in Auburn, Maine. Her life at Schooner Estates kept her very busy and she enjoyed every second of living there. Her favorite things included sitting in “her” chair next to the fireplace sipping on her coffee while catching up on current events, reminiscing about the old times, grabbing her lucky spot at the bingo table, and riding shotgun on the Schooner Estates bus for a road trip to some wonderful place for the day. She never lost her zest for life. She referred to her fellow residents and staff as her extended family. Everyone who knew Peggy loved her and will miss her beautiful smile and friendship.
While Peggy worked at Sears and Roebuck in the Augusta and Lewiston stores for decades, she claimed her greatest accomplishment was raising her children.
Peggy is survived by her four children: Stephen and wife Louise of Monmouth, Janis and fiancé Bob Kenney of Bangor, Barbara and husband Mark Moad of Poland, and Thomas and wife Lynn of Gray, and her sisters: Mary Buckley of Brown Deer, Wisconsin and Marcia MacVane of Raymond.
She has six grandchildren: Micah and Chase Roberge, Gregory Rollins, Allison and Douglas Moad, Cameron Roberge, and 5 great-grandchildren who affectionately call her Super Grammy: Margaret (Maggie) and Wesley Roberge, Wilder and Willamina Roberge, and Violet Moad, whose arrival she was happily awaiting. And lastly, she loved her two granddogs, Rigby and Sage, who always looked forward to Grammy’s treats and affection.
Peggy, was predeceased by her husband Roger Roberge, her parents Charles E and Edna M. Durdan; and her brother Richard C. Durdan of Nevada.
