

LEWISTON- MaryAnn C. Bissonnette, 76, of Lewiston died Friday October 24, 2014 at D’Youville Pavilion following a long illness. She was born in Lewiston, Maine on August 2, 1938 the daughter of the late Joseph and Eva (Pomerleau) Fortin and had been a resident of this community all of her life. She was educated in Lewiston schools and was a graduate of the University of Maine in Orono in 1980 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Services. She was employed as a social worker for Seniors Plus for thirty years until her retirement. She was an advocate for the elderly, a member of the Angels Group and The Pretty Woman Group. MaryAnn loved to camp at Old Orchard Beach with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by one son Richard Bissonnette and his wife Anna of Lewiston; two daughters Diane Beaulieu of Lewiston and Susan Hilse and her husband Matthew of Scarborough; one step-son Mark Johnson and his wife Angie of Connecticut; one step-daughter Linda Calhoun and her husband Ed of California; seven grandchildren Jessica, Danielle, Jacob, Todd, Amanda, Krista and Aaron; Six great grandchildren; one brother Leo Fortin and his wife Merlene of Rockland; five sisters Aline Mercier and her husband Bert of Lewiston, Jeanine Wesleigh of Auburn, Irene Bernard of Lewiston, Claire Young of Auburn and Annette Chase of California; and her granddogs Tank and Susie Q.
