AUBURN - Muriel L. Dechene, 86, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2018 at Sarah Frye Home in Auburn. She previously resided on Orestis Way in Lewiston. She was born in Lewiston on January 2, 1932, the daughter of Ernest and Corinne (Paradis)Doyon. She graduated from local schools and on June 30, 1953, she married Alexandre Dechene. Muriel retired as a med tech from D'Youville Pavilion and went onto work at Morin's Bridal World, formerly located in Lewiston. She was an excellent seamstress and loved being a helpful shopper with her two daughters. She enjoyed playing bridge with her bridge club and playing cards with her sisters and brother. She was also able to enjoy her retirement years which included many wonderful trips with her husband . She leaves behind two daughters, Annette Roy and husband David W. of Greene and Susan Bement and husband Neil of Auburn; Five grandchildren, Chad and Adam Roy, Katie (Roy) Jewett, Brian and Alex Bement; six great grandchildren, Jackson and Ella Bement, Hannah and Owen Roy, Parker and Calla Jewett; two sisters, Doris Theberge and Joan Teixeira; a brother Donald Doyon. She was predeceased by her husband Alexandre; two sisters, Carmen Cole and Jeaninne Quinlan; two brothers, Raymond and Roger Doyon.
Muriel's two daughters wish to extend a heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Thomas Hattan, Vicki and her staff at Sarah Frye Home and the Beacon Hospice support team. You have demonstrated everything that should come first in the medical profession, human kindness, understanding and compassion.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018 from 10am to 12pm at Fortin/LEWISTON. A funeral service will immediately follow at 12pm at Fortin/LEWISTON. A committal will take place at a later date at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Lewiston.
