

MINOT- Norman J. Albert, 61, of Minot passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side early Tuesday morning, September 14, 2010 following a long courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Lewiston, Maine on May 26, 1949 the son of Arthur and Annie (LeBelle) Albert. He attended Lewiston elementary schools and graduated from Lewiston High School, the class of 1967. He then received an Associates degree in building construction from CMVTI in 1970. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1970 thru 1976 as a sergeant. He was married to the love of his life, Suzanne M. Gagne on March 25, 1972. They made their home in Minot. They had one daughter, Savannah. He was currently employed with H E Callahan Construction as a superintendent where he started in 1993. He was self employed as a building contractor from 1980 thru 1993. He worked for Callahan Brothers from 1970 thru 1973. He then was a building trade instructor at CMVTI from 1973 thru 1976. He then went back to Callahan Brothers from 1976 to 1980. Norman loved camping and going to the ocean. He truly loved his job and his family meant everything to him. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife Suzanne of 38 years; his daughter Savannah (Albert) Gould and son-in-law Eric Gould (his buddy); his cat Moxie and dog Tex. He was predeceased by his parents; his brother Conrad Albert; his sister-in-law Judy Albert; and his in laws Reginald and Anne Marie Gagne. The family would like to thank Norman's oncologist Dr. Amir Modarressi, the oncology staff at St. Mary's, Dr. Austin of the hospice house and his two home hospice nurses Betty and Judy. A Funeral Mass honoring Norman's life will be celebrated on Friday at 11AM at Sacred Heart Church Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish.
