

LEWISTON - Patrick L. Plourde, 88, a resident of 550 College St., died unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center shortly after arrival with family by his side. He was born in Skowhegan, April 7, 1919, the son of Charles and Leocardie (Gagnon) Plourde. He started work at a young age as a shipping clerk, and then began his long career as a meat cutter beginning with Charlie Day, then over 20 years for Hannaford, and his last twenty years as a meat cutter for Bourque's Market in Lewiston until his retirement in 2006. He was an avid bowler, who also enjoyed woodworking and just recently redecorated his home in knotty pine.He also loved nurturing his plants. Survivors include four nieces, Kelley Holt and her husband, Kenneth of Litchfield, Jannan Oliver of Damariscotta, Sharon McKechnies and her husband, Robert of Farmington; Helen Flewylen and her husband, Robert of Skowhegan. and also surviving are many other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Arlene Worthley in 1980; 10 siblings, Robert, Charles, Loretta, Georgianna, Helen, Joseph, Emile, Paul, Leon, and Adrien. PLOURDE died in Lewiston, January 8, 2008, Mr. Patrick L. Plourde age 88 years a resident of Lewiston. Funeral services honoring Patrick's life will be celebrated SATURDAY 11:00AM from the Memorial Chapel of Dillingham & Son with Reverend James Morrison presiding. Graveside committal prayers followed by military honors will be held in the spring at Mt. Auburn Cemetery.
