

NORWAY – Robert N. Croteau, 81, of Lewiston passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 27th at Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway after a few years of failing health. He was born in Berlin, N.H., the son of Joseph and Yvonne (Turcotte) Croteau. Bob graduated in 1951 from Notre Dame High School in Berlin. On June 14, 1958, he married Jeannette (Murphy) Croteau at Guardian Angel Church in Berlin, N.H. For many years Bob was employed at Maine Cement in Portland before retiring from Gagne and Sons in Auburn. Bob was a parishioner of Holy Family Church in Lewiston. He was a 3rd Degree member of Council 106 Knights of Columbus and a past Faithful Navigator of the 4th Degree Wallace Assembly. Before his health declined, Bob was a very active member holding many different positions within the Council. In his free time he enjoyed making crossword puzzles and playing cards (especially his two games of Skip Bo every night after supper). He loved watching the Boston Red Sox and attending his grandson Jordan’s sporting events. Bob is survived by his wife of 56 years Jeannette of Lewiston; a son, Bruce and his wife Tina, of South Paris; a granddaughter Danielle of Augusta and a grandson Jordan also of South Paris; sister Jeannine Poirier of Berlin, N.H.; brother-in-law George Murphy of Berlin; sister-in-law Gladys Murphy of Berlin and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Joe and Yvonne Croteau and brother-in-law Raymond Poirier all of Berlin. The family would like to express special thanks to his primary care physician Dr. Seth Gordon, his assistant Dawn, and to nurse Lisa Ewing from Androscoggin Home Health for being so thoughtful, considerate and understanding during his illness. Also, many thanks to Darquise Landry, a cousin, for being there whenever needed to transport Bob to and from his many doctor’s appointments. Visitation at Fortin/Lewiston, Monday from 6 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Church. Burial will be held in the spring at St. Anne's Cemetery, Berlin, NH.
