Staff Sergeant Aaron Michael Clark - Born June 28, 1995 in Lewiston, ME to Scott and Laura Clark left our world on June 19, 2021. A shining light in the lives of so many is now looking over our shoulder and spreading his love, laughter, and mischief from afar.
Prior to joining the Army Aaron lived in Wales, ME where he attended grade school and high school. As a child Aaron participated in soccer, baseball and football. He then transitioned to Kenpo Karate and Brazilian Jui Jitsu where he received black belt and junior black belt respectfully. Aaron competed in tournaments throughout New England and received many awards. The best part of Aaron’s journey through martial arts is that it was a love and passion that Aaron shared with his brother Kyle and sister Morgan, together they would challenge and encourage each other to be the best that they could be. While attending Oak Hill High School, Aaron participated in baseball and football, which he thoroughly enjoyed.
In July of 2013 Aaron left Maine a boy and 16 weeks later he returned a man. As is Aaron’s way, he excelled throughout One Station Unit Training (OSUT) becoming an Infantryman and continued this throughout his career. He would go on to become an excellent soldier, leader, friend, and someone to truly be looked up to. Aaron earned his True Blue Infantry Expert Badge as a Private right out of OSUT. He attended Air Assault being awarded his Air Assault wings. Aaron served one tour in Iraq from 2015 to 2016. Aaron was selected to become a Drill Sergeant in 2018 becoming part of the prestige top 10% in the Army. A Drill Sergeant is a symbol of excellence in initial entry training which speaks volumes on the type of soldier and leader Aaron was. Most recently Aaron attended the Rappel Master Course just another of Aaron’s many accomplishments. Aaron’s awards and decorations consist of 4-ARCOM’S, 8-AAM’S, 2-AGCM’S, 1-NDSM, 1-ICM-CS, 1-GWTSM, 2-NOPDR’S, 1-ASR, 1-OSR, 2-COA’S, 1-DSIDBAD, 1-EIB, 1-AIR ASLT, and 1-MQBE-R.
On December 5, 2020 Aaron married his best friend and love of his life and together they began planning their next adventure. A move that would bring him closer to Maine, where Aaron’s son Aidan resides.
Aaron is survived by his wife Courtney Bradley-Clark, stepson Jaylen Bradley and stepdaughter Cassidy Morton, mother Laura Godin-Clark, his father and stepmother Scott and Lisa Clark, brother Kyle Clark and wife Kathryn, sister Morgan Clark, stepbrothers Ryan and Evan Beaulieu, stepsister Kian Beaulieu, nephews Karter, Kayden, and Fletcher, grandparents Larry and May Godin, and M.E. Clark. Mother in Law Kimberly Bradley and Brother in Law Julian Valerio, his god mother Kimberly Clark and god father Larry Godin Jr. as well as many aunts, uncles, and friends. Aaron also leaves behind his one and only biological son Aidan Michael Clark. Aidan was Aaron’s pride and joy and his purpose for much of what he accomplished. All he ever wanted was for his son to know how much he truly meant to him and ensure he was well taken care of. Not a day passed where he did not wish he could see and spend more time with Aidan as he was his greatest gift in life.
Aaron’s spare time was spent fishing, or gaming with his wife, brother, and his best friend Cody. He could spend hours at night gaming as it was their way to connect and enjoyed one another’s company. Aaron’s other passion was disc golf, if it was daylight and he wasn’t working you would find him on a course somewhere.
We would like to express our deepest appreciation for all the love and support we have received during this time. Aaron was an amazing person. He had good balance between seriousness, and maturity. He loved to laugh and had the best sense of humor. Aaron’s family believes he’s in paradise playing rounds of disc golf, and pranking everyone from above. Until we meet again you will forever be in our hearts and our thoughts, our dreams and our memories. There will always be a place at the table for you.
