Alice Vernell B. Curtis

LEXINGTON – Funeral services for Alice Vernell B. Curtis, 89, of Lexington, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 2, 2014 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel with interment in Celestial Memorial Gardens, West Columbia. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Oakwood Baptist Church or charity of one’s choice.

Vernell was born on June 25, 1924 in Wagener, SC to the late Lonnie O. Baughman and Alice Walker Baughman and passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2014. She was a Charter Member of Oakwood Baptist Church.

Vernell is survived by daughters, Linda Brock of Spartanburg, Pat Laird (Sam) of Lexington, Carolyn Russell (Brett) of Lexington: a brother, Marvin Baughman of Wagener; grandchildren, Tina O’Sullivan, Trina Caldwell, Gene Brock, Jr. Lisa Foster, Curtis Laird and Kendra Corey; 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild. Predeceased are husband Odom Curtis; brother, Harvey Baughman; sisters, Dessie Fulmer, Lola Gantt, Ottie Lee Cooper, Connie Toole and Ruby Cooper; son-in-law Gene Brock, Sr. and grandson, Jason Wright.
