Alicia Sue Bednar

Alicia, formerly of Griffith and East Chicago, IN, is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Allen Bednar; daughter, Jennifer (Kevin) Herod of Lexington, SC; granddaughters, Olivia (future son-in-law, Ethan Johnson) and Aubrey Herod; sister-in-law, Jeannie Bednar; nieces, Dawn (Joe) Bobrowski, Doreen (Ed) Hernandez, and Deanna (Joe) Johnston. Alicia is preceded in death by her parents, Ann and Roman Nykowski.

Alicia was a long-time employee of Carson, Pirie, Scott (Woodmar), Highland Department Store, and Hallmark.

The family would like to thank everyone at South Carolina Oncology Associates (SCOA) for their unconditional care and support during her treatment.

Alicia enjoyed her numerous trips to Las Vegas and going to the beach. Her greatest joy was spending time with her granddaughters and their many activities. She was treasured by all who knew and loved her.

Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, SC 29072 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM with memorial service immediately following in the Chapel.
