She was born in Greenville, SC on August 28, 1935. She was the widow of the late Robert (Bobby) Batson of Irmo, SC and the daughter of the late Oscar and Ruth Martin of Greenville, SC. She graduated from Greenville High School in 1954. She was a full time mother, and then was employed by Village Squire for 17 years.
Surviving are her son, Robert Batson and wife, Debi, of Chapin, SC; daughter, Debra Berggrun of Irmo, SC; daughter, Ruthie Mobley and husband, Jay, of Irmo, SC; one brother, Jim Martin and wife, Kaye, of Cross Hill, SC; four grandchildren, the late Joshua Berggrun of Irmo, Brittany Berggrun of Irmo, Diana Batson of Chapin, Benjamin Batson and wife, Alexandra, of Lexington and one great-grandson, Crew Batson of Lexington.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, July 21, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Visitation will follow the service at the funeral home.
