She attended Appalachian State University and earned her teaching degree. She married the love of her life, Ted Freeman, and moved to Marion, NC. She taught business at Marion and McDowel High Schools until she retired.
Betty will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Our family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life not the sadness of her passing. She is survived by her beloved son Ben (Gwen). She also leaves behind her amazing grandchildren, Elizabeth (Jay), Justin (Katy), and Dalton (Sarah). She was blessed with eight beautiful great grandchildren who loved and knew "Great B" and the infamous "Bettymobile."
The family would like to extend their gratitude to our dear Rose A. in Marion, Lighthouse Hospice (Kelli, Agape Hospice (Tanya and Ashley), and Westminster Memory Care. Our heartfelt gratitude is also extended to our angel Alexis, and those that work on the two hundred hall.
A private ceremony will be held later in North Carolina. Memorials in her honor may be made to St. John's Episcopal Church in Marion, North Carolina or St. James Lutheran Church in Lexington, SC.
