

West Columbia - Catherine Bajor Probst, formerly of Morrisville, PA, joined her loving husband, daughter, and other relatives in Heaven on Thursday, November 29, 2012. Born on March 2, 1917 in Trenton, NJ to the late John and Caroline Bajor, she was one of eight children. Affectionately known as “Kitty”, she was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Robert T. Probst, as well as her daughter, Suzi P. Trevitz.
She graduated in 1934 from Morrisville High School and went to work at Horseman Dolls where she prepared sample dolls. When the war broke out in 1941, she went to work in a defense plant as an inspector. She was also employed with the State Retirement System where she retired from in 1983.
After her retirement, Kitty graciously took care of her four granddaughters, who she loved unconditionally. She was a strong woman with a solid Catholic faith and a dedicated member of Saint Peter’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed cutting out coupons, shopping, cooking, and spending time with her family.
Kitty is survived by her daughter, Karen P. Peake (Carey); son, Robert “Bobby” Probst (Debbie); four granddaughters, Ashley R. Peake (Mike Waddell), Meaghan C. Peake, Emily P. Betcher (Chip), and Elizabeth A. Probst, as well as, a great grandson, Sutton M. Betcher and Asher J. Waddell due in March 2013. She will also be dearly missed by the Marut family of Greenwood, SC and other relatives in New Jersey and New York.
A special “thank you” to the pallbearers: Chip Betcher, Robert Cornay, Martin Gasque, Carey Peake, Grant Ragin, and Mike Waddell. Honorary pallbearers: Ernie Peake, Jim Pittman, Anthony Plante, and John Zurlo.

The visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Sunday, December 2 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, December 3 at St. Peters Catholic Church with burial to follow in St. Peters Catholic Church Cemetery.
