Claire E. Lawson

Mrs. Lawson was very involved with Cayce Chapter #260 Order of the Eastern Star and the Women’s Club of West Columbia. She served in the U.S. Navy and was a proud National Defense Service Medal and Honor Flight recipient. She retired from Farm Bureau Insurance in Cayce and was a member of Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Lawson was a master gardener and loved her animals and watching her hummingbirds. She won numerous metals at the Senior Olympics. She was always smiling and laughing and loved everyone.

She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Rish (Steve), Debbie Kingsbury (Dan), Laura Lown (Donald), Cindy Taulbert (Mike) and Lilli Sox (Jack); 15 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. She was happily married for over 60 years to William “Bill” Lawson.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church with interment to follow at Lexington Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service in the church Assembly Room.
