

Cindy walked through life with gentle strength, touching the lives of everyone she encountered with unforgettable grace. Cindy was a devoted nurse, dedicating her time and resources to making this world a better place. She found beauty in life’s simple moments and encouraged us all to do the same.
Cynthia was born in New York, New York on May 5, 1949 to the late Joseph and Gloria Tolson. She spent over 40 years in the nursing field as a Registered Nurse, Teaching Nurse, and she retired as a Director of Nursing in 2015.
She is survived by her daughter, Christine Ocain and her husband, Joe of South Carolina; son, Thomas Ellis and his wife, LaDrina of North Carolina; grandchildren, James Raine of Massachusetts, Tracy Raine and her fiancé, Tyler Dixon of Oklahoma, Daquan Ellis, Kya Bessent, Jeremiah Ellis, Jakerrian Bessent, Shamar Ellis, Shambreal Ellis, Christopher Bessent of South Carolina, Taleigha Ellis of Maryland, and Lawson Ellis of North Carolina; great-grandchildren, Christopher Conner and Renee Raine of Oklahoma.
Cynthia was loved and will be deeply missed by her siblings, Deborah and husband, Al Johnson, Ermine and husband, William Parks, Dominick and wife, Karen Tolson, Joanne and husband Richard Crossman, and Daniel Tolson, in addition to many nieces and nephew, and countless friends who felt her warmth and generosity.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Tracy Walley; brothers, Calvin, Joe, Timmy, Norman, and Gregory Tolson; and her sister, Bonita Davis.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 6, 2024 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home – Lexington Chapel, 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, SC 29072.
