Danny Haltiwanger

He was the son of Jeanne and John Haltiwanger and was born and raised in Columbia, SC. In later years, he spent twelve wonderful years in Walterboro, a small town he came to love and proudly call home.

Danny is survived by his sister, Jan Haltiwanger Savitz; his brother-in-law, Phil Savitz; his niece, Erin Savitz Absulio, her husband Aaron, and their two children, Jordi and Adelei; and his nephew, Zack Savitz. He cherished his family deeply, and his love for them shaped so much of who he was.

Danny had a generous spirit and a joyful curiosity for the world. He delighted in thrift stores and antique shops, always discovering hidden treasures and selecting thoughtful gifts for the people he loved. He enjoyed traveling, meeting new people, and had an abiding affection for all animals.

Danny will be remembered for his warmth, loyalty, playful sense of humor, and the kindness he showed to everyone he met. His presence will be deeply missed by his family, his friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.

In honor of Danny's lifelong love for animals, memorials donations may be made to any animal rescue organization of your choice.

The family will hold a private service at a date to be determined at Chapin Christian Community Church.
