
Earl M. Martin, Jr. born on July 7, 1942, passed away on January 7, 2026, at the age of 83. A resident of Leesville, South Carolina, Earl was a man of distinguished service and devotion to both his country and his community.
Earl retired from the Lexington County Sheriff's Department and the United States Air Force. He was a Vietnam Veteran who served his country with honor. Earl was also a proud member of the Masonic Lodge Saluda #103 and was a past master at Elmore Lodge #288. His dedication extended to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, where he was an active member.
Earl was born to his mother, Myrtle Ellen Fleming, and father, Earl Morris Martin, Sr. He is survived by his son, Tim Martin and his wife Mindy, along with seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. He also leaves behind his brothers, Danny and Phil Martin, and sisters, Linda Martin and Ellen Nunnery. Earl was predeceased by his beloved wife, Judy Martin, and son, Christopher Martin. He held a special friendship with Carol Hiers, who was a significant part of his life.
In his personal life, Earl enjoyed the freedom and thrill of riding his Harley. He was an avid Clemson fan, supporting them with enthusiasm. Earl had a passion for beach music and loved shagging, which brought him joy and connection with others. He also loved boating and fishing.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home – Lexington Chapel, 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, SC 29072. Burial will take place at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Rd, Columbia, SC 29229 on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at 10:00 AM.
Earl’s legacy is one of service, love, and vibrant living. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
