

GASTON – Funeral services for Edward Thomas Hall, 76, of Gaston will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2011 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel with interment in Red Bank United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 520 Gervais Street, Columbia, SC 29201.
Mr. Hall was born on April 24, 1935 in Lexington, SC and passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2011. He was the son of the late Grover M. Hall and Alma Miller Hall. Mr. Hall was a member of Red Bank United Methodist Church where he was a member of the men’s Sunday school class. He retired from SMI Joist Company with 30 years of service.
Mr. Hall is survived by his wife, Vernelle Lucas Hall of Gaston; daughter, Lisha Stuart (Robert), Wendy G. Hall, Bryan O. Hall (Randi), Keith Shumpert (Joyce), David I. Shumpert, Ronnie Shumpert (Tamera), Karen S. Grandy (Mike); 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brothers, Heyward Hall (Joyce), Clarence Hall, (Pat); sisters, Mary Ann Taylor (M.L.) and Louise Kaminer. He was predeceased by 1 grandchild, Michael Boyd Grandy. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of “Spence Place” at Lexington Medical Center Extended Care.
