Emery is survived by Amelia, his loving wife of 64 years; daughter, Kimberly Creech (Andy); grandchildren, Jeff Creech and Rebecca Eddins (Scott); great-grandchildren, Charleigh Sydney and McNeil Emery Eddins; and nieces and nephews. He loved and supported all of his family.
He graduated from Louisiana College and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. After graduation, he followed his calling to be a minister to college students at Louisiana College, Morehead State University, Kentucky Baptist Convention, and the Home Mission Board (NAMB). In 1978, he began work at the South Carolina Baptist Convention where he was Director of Campus Ministry until his retirement.
Emery was a long-time member of Riverland Hills Baptist Church where he taught the Friendship Sunday School Class for over 20 years.
In addition to his parents, Emery was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Durward and Catherine Smith; and brother and sister-in-law, Leverette and Audrey Smith.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Riverland Hills Baptist Church at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 16, 2025. Visitation will follow the service.
