Freddy R. Atwood

He was born on October 13, 1953 in San Diego, CA to Alice Mae Atwood, who preceded him in death. Freddy was a Marine, husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, and uncle.

He was a Registered Nurse preferring emergency medicine and met his soulmate and wife of 33 years at Midlands Technical College. He loved being a nurse and loved his family and friends unconditionally.

He lost many friends in death due to COVID 19, but his heart was truly broken when his best friend and father-in-law passed in September of 2021.

Freddy was a sweet, quiet, private, and loving person that helped family and friends whenever he could. He loved God and prayed for everyone every day.

His stories, laughter, and recounting of events will truly be missed by all.

He is survived by his wife, Terry; his children, Brian and Shawn (Sara); granddaughter, Grace; siblings, Freda Ford (Billy C.), Jimmy Atwood, Alice Atwood, and Donna York (Calvin); sister-in-law, Deborah Harmon; brother-in-law, Chris Gaylord (Alicia); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home – Lexington Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. A burial will follow the service at Lexington Memorial Gardens, 1772-1782 W Main St, Lexington, SC 29072.
