John loved to watch NASCAR and Gamecock football. He liked to play guitar and chess, go fishing, and spend time with his grandchildren. He was a CNC Machinist for 45 years and was very skilled in the trade. Johnny was a dedicated father, grandfather and husband.
He is survived by his wife, Vicki Hornsby; daughter, Stephanie Hornsby; grandchildren Skylar Easterling and Landon Waller; and sister Trudy Rail.
He was predeceased by his father, John Henry Hornsby, Sr.; mother, Ruth Hornsby; sister, Maxine Kirk; brother Robert Sanders Hornsby; and son Shane Derek Hornsby.
Visitation will be held Sunday, May 25, 2025 at 1 p.m. with the service to follow at 1:30 p.m. at St. Andrews Road Church of Christ, 425 St. Andrews Road, Columbia, SC 29210.
