

LEXINGTON – Funeral services for Kenneth M. Schneider “Mr. Kenny,” 84, will be held at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, conducted by Dr. Rev. Leon Rawl, at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, February 6, 2012. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel on Sunday, February 5, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. The family requests that memorials be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 1130 St. Peter’s Road, Lexington, SC 29072.
Mr. Kenny passed away Friday, February 3, 2012, after a brief illness, at home surrounded by his loving children and pets. He was born October 25, 1927 in Lexington, SC. Kenneth was the son of the late George F. Schneider and Eula Roof Schneider. He was a lifetime member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church where he served in various roles. He was active in the Lake Murray community and a charter member of Lake Murray Community Club.
Mr. Kenny was a graduate of Lexington High School Class of 1945. He was a second generation farmer, taking over farming from his father as his older brothers left to serve our country. He was the youngest son and needed at home and on the family farm. When his brother, George L., returned they continued to farm together until the late 60’s. At that time, farm operations were continued by Mr. Kenny and his son, George – Schneider and Son. He also worked in the grocery business with his brother, James. His love for the land and his ability as a farmer were shared with all those who knew him as he freely gave the fruits of his labor to his friends, community and any in need.
Kenneth was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Barbara Davis Schneider; son, J. Gary Schneider and his wife, Helen and brother, James L. Schneider. He was also predeceased by his dog BoJo and Missy Cat. Mr. Kenny is survived by his brother, George L. Schneider and sister, Evelyn S. Brittingham of Lexington. Mr. Kenny was an awesome man – loving husband, daddy, Papa and friend. He is survived by his daughters, Alice Frick-Hall (Tommy) of Charlotte, NC and Donna Alford (Steve) of Lexington; son, George W. Schneider of Lexington and foster sons, Mokey Buff of Lexington and Waldo Buff of Pelion; 10 grandchildren, Greg and Trinity Schneider, Bryam Frick (Tracy), Jennifer Lever, Zachary Alford, Buffy Pearson, Allison Black (Ashley), Taylor and Tyler Schneider, Chauntee’ Hutchins and Waldo Buff, Jr.; eight great-grandchildren, Ryan and Josh Lever, Jade and Kailey Schneider, Wyatt and Blythe Alford, Leighann Pearson and Marissa Black; numerous nieces and nephews and adopted family member, Jai Hicks (Mary Beth). Mr. Kenny leaves behind his faithful loving cat, Boots and his beautiful farm pastures filled with cows, goats and donkeys.
Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons, Zachary Alford, Bryam Frick, Waldo Buff, Jr.; nephews, Mark and David Schneider, Michael Davis; adopted family member, Jai Hicks and friends, Burt Bickley, Wesley “PeeWee” Harmon and Paul Arnold. Honorary pallbearers will be LHS Class of 1945 Supper Club.
